Filings by field
| Field | Filings | New employment | Level I-II | Median wage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Data | 264 | 184 | 90% | $148K |
| AI/ML | 218 | 147 | 89% | $155K |
| Software | 127 | 72 | 90% | $158K |
| Design | 7 | 7 | n/a | n/a |
| IT & Cloud | 3 | 3 | n/a | n/a |
| Product | 1 | 0 | n/a | n/a |
One filing can count in more than one field: Software Developer filings count toward software, AI/ML and data, because those roles are often filed under that job code. Level I-II is the share of filings at the lower two of four prevailing wage levels. n/a means fewer than 10 filings in that field, too few for a share or a median.
Filings by quarter
Tech LCA filings by the quarter they were decided. Quarters are federal fiscal quarters: FY25 Q1 runs from October to December 2024.
- FY25 Q1Oct to Dec 20246
- FY25 Q2Jan to Mar 202515
- FY25 Q3Apr to Jun 202563
- FY25 Q4Jul to Sep 202511
- FY26 Q1Oct to Dec 20258
- FY26 Q2Jan to Mar 2026131
- FY26 Q3Apr to Jun 202640
Very few filings were decided in October 2025 across all employers, while the federal government was shut down, so FY2026 Q1 looks low for every company.

What these numbers mean
An LCA (Labor Condition Application) is a filing an employer makes with the Department of Labor before hiring or keeping an H-1B worker in a role, at a stated wage. It is not a visa approval or a hire: one LCA can cover a role that is never filled, and the visa itself is decided later by USCIS. Certified means the Department of Labor accepted the filing.
Counts here are certified H-1B LCAs for tech roles (computer occupations, plus hardware engineers and IT managers), including ones the employer withdrew after certification. New employment means a filing for a new H-1B job, often a person's first H-1B (this can include someone already working at the company on student work authorization), as opposed to an extension or a transfer from another employer. Wage levels I to IV are the prevailing wage levels for the role and city, from entry level (I) to the most experienced (IV).
