About the Team

Prime Brokerage Technology delivers the solutions that underpin the operations of our clients and traders, forming the technological backbone of our Prime Finance business. This is an area of significant opportunity, identified as a major growth priority for Citi — with technology serving as the key to unlocking that potential.

Prime Brokerage Technology provides the platforms and solutions that support our clients and traders - the foundation of the Prime Brokerage business. Our clients depend on us to deliver consistently high levels of service, ensuring transactions, payments, and reporting are processed accurately and without failure, every single day.

We are partway through a transformation journey - replacing legacy components with test-driven, cloud-native microservices designed for stability, scalability, and release agility

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support Cash and Fixed Income data processing components (Java/Kotlin) within the Prime Brokerage Technology platform
  • Write and maintain developer-led automated tests as part of day-to-day delivery
  • Work within an Agile team with a strong focus on Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Actively participate in design, planning, and estimation discussions
  • Collaborate with colleagues across teams to help integrate functions effectively and support new products and process improvements
  • Help resolve a variety of technical problems through careful evaluation of business processes, system behavior, and industry standards
  • Apply and grow your applications programming knowledge, ensuring your work aligns with the overall architecture blueprint
  • Build understanding of system flow and contribute to coding, testing, debugging, and implementation standards
  • Develop a broader understanding of how architecture, infrastructure, and other business functions come together to support business goals
  • Contribute analytical thinking to help define issues clearly and shape practical solutions
  • Share knowledge and support junior colleagues as you build toward technical leadership

Qualifications:

  • Background delivering software using an iterative Agile approach
  • Exposure to quality-led engineering practices, such as developer-led automated testing, CI/CD, microservices, containerized deployment, and cloud engineering
  • Track record of owning and delivering reliable outcomes for business users
  • Comfortable engaging with product owners to understand requirements and help explore solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at once
  • Prior exposure to Prime Brokerage is a plus but not essential
  • Enjoys working collaboratively and contributing ideas within a team setting
  • Open, collaborative communication style
  • Genuine pride in delivering solutions that make users happy
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices - including continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, and containerization
  • Practical JVM development skills using Kotlin, Java, or Scala
  • Working understanding of HTTP and REST-based architectures
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • Knowledge of test automation practices (i.e. TDD, BDD)
  • Exposure to tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a plus
