As a Senior Manager of Enterprise Data Architecture, you will lead our team of data architects and own the data management practices that make our data trustworthy at enterprise scale. You will set architectural direction for master data, analytic data domains, and the data assets that power our AI solutions, then partner with Data Engineering to turn that direction into production systems.
This role calls for someone with deep data architecture fundamentals, proven people leadership, and the judgment to balance near-term value against long-term goals.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop a team of seven data architects. Give them clear vision and context on the problems they are solving and build career paths that make growth transparent for every architect on the team.
- Own Hagerty's master data management practices for members, agents, and vehicles. Partner with Solution Architecture and Engineering to build a full delivery plan and harden MDM processes into quality certified systems of record.
- Define the standards for attribute validation and certification, whether through third-party data providers or human-in-the-loop verification.
- Serve on the data governance team, providing architectural oversight and policy recommendations that ensure data management practices are implemented effectively.
- Work with business and technical leaders across the organization to develop and refine data management policies that teams can practically adopt.
- Guide the design of data domains, data and analytic products, and data assets for AI solutions, with the goal of making analytic data domains available to every core business group.
- Establish clear partnership boundaries with Data Engineering so ownership, handoffs, and accountability are understood on both sides.
- Optimize how the team works, including adopting AI-assisted tooling for modeling, documentation, and design review.
- Oversee the quality of the team's designs through review and coaching, and step in directly when a problem calls for it.
- Maintain an architectural vision aligned with Hagerty's enterprise architecture that serves as a North Star for maturing the Enterprise Data domain.
