What you'll do...
Role summary:As a Staff Product Manager, you will lead strategy and execution for complex products, driving end-to-end outcomes from discovery through value realization. This role requires deep customer and technical insight, strong stakeholder collaboration, and ownership of product vision, roadmaps, and lifecycle management. You will influence cross-functional teams, leverage data-driven decision-making, and identify emerging technology opportunities to enhance product impact. Acting as a recognized authority, you will mentor peers and elevate product management practices while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and delivering measurable value.
About the team:
The Last Mile Delivery (LMD) team ensures every Walmart store-fulfilled order reaches customers promptly with a seamless experience. We develop platforms and tools managing millions of deliveries weekly across thousands of pickup points, including express, scheduled, and same-day fulfillment. This role is part of the Last Mile Optimization domain, owning systems that determine delivery capacity needs, positioning, and demand flow through the network. The team focuses on balancing customer commitments, driver productivity, and operational efficiency by anticipating demand, optimizing capacity, building efficient routes, and continuously refining the delivery network.
What you'll do:
- Set the vision and roadmap
- Own the product lifecycle
- Define the optimization architecture connecting forecasting, capacity planning, sourcing, trip creation, routing, real-time execution.
- Partner deeply with Data Science and Engineering to build forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decisioning capabilities that operate at Walmart scale.
- Define objective functions and guardrails across speed, reliability, density, utilization, driver experience, and economics rather than optimizing any one metric in isolation.
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Sourcing, Matching, Pricing, Incentives, Dynamic SLA, Operations, Finance, and Driver Experience.
- Drive the transition from rules to intelligence by determining where deterministic logic, optimization, machine learning, and automation should each be used
- Build reusable platform capabilities
What you'll bring:
- Bring strong product judgment in marketplaces, logistics, network optimization, routing, or large-scale decision systems.
- Can connect capacity planning and network execution into one coherent product strategy rather than optimizing individual parts of the system independently.
- Are comfortable reasoning through multi-objective optimization problems where customer speed, cost, density, and driver experience compete with one another.
- Can translate messy operational complexity into a clean platform architecture and roadmap that Data Science, Engineering, and Operations can execute against.
- Operate with high analytical rigor: you define the objective function, measure the system, understand tradeoffs, and continuously tune performance.
